The Key To Health Everybody’s Missing…
Discovering kinks in the digestive chain!
You can eat the healthiest diet in the world, but if your body is unable to digest properly, your body will struggle. There is an old saying “You are what you eat,” but in reality, “You are what you digest.” The question is, “Are you getting the most out of your digestion?“ The digestive system is complex and without having a large understanding of biology, how is one to know if they truly are digesting optimally? Have no fear, the first step to understanding your body better is HERE! Below I’ll guide you through the at home digestion test so you can begin to increase your health today!
Let’s take a moment to look at the digestive system
As you can see here from the picture above, the digestive system is HUGE! It literally encompasses every organ from your mouth to your anus.
The Importance Of The Digestive System
This system is the very thing your body relies on in order to get the nutrients it needs to function optimally. When there is a ‘kink in the chain,’ problems begin to appear. If you are experiencing symptoms of any type – digestive, skin or congestion, the chances are there is an issue with one of these delicate mini-systems. When the digestive system is in balance, the entire machine works incredibly well. Our immune systems are high, we have an abundant amount of energy, and our minds are clear. When this system is out of balance, we can experience a myriad of symptoms some of which are listed below. Symptoms: Acid reflux Acne Belching Bloatedness Constipation Hormonal issues IBS Irritability/mood imbalances Fatigue Weight gain –And much much more
The stomach’s main job in the digestive system is to begin the breakdown process, known as metabolism. The stomach takes masticated food and turns it into a substance called chyme (a mixture of gastric juices and partially digested food) then empties it into the first part of the small intestine (duodenum). If there is not enough Hydrochloric Acid along with enzymes, such a pepsinogen, in order to properly digest it, this creates added stress on the rest of the digestive system.
This is a simple at-home test you can do tomorrow to see if the second and very important organ in your digestive system is working optimally.
The Baking Soda test
First thing when you wake up, before drinking or eating anything, take ½ cup water, mix it with ¼ teaspoon of baking soda and drink. Set a timer for 5 minutes. If you don’t burp within 5 minutes that is one sign, you may have low stomach acid. If you do burp, congratulations; we know the stomach is up to par, and we can begin to move lower down in the digestive tract.
